Gully Boy is the latest movie that had released earlier in 2019. Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt are lead actors in the movie. Zoya Akhtar directed the Gully Boy. The movie performed well at the box office.
The movie starts with Murad Ahmed(Ranveer Singh) who is a final year college student. He lives in Dharavi Slums in Mumbai. His father is abusive in nature. His father marries the second wife younger than his father and which becomes disturbing for Murad. Murad has a passion for rapping.
Murad has his girlfriend Safeena (Alia Bhatt) for a long time who is training to be a surgeon and meets her routinely on secretly. Murad’s father faces an accident and Murad has forced to work as part-time as a driver to support his family. He develops a passion for rapping because of the inequalities at a job.
Murad meets MC Sher (Siddhant Chaturvedi) at the college fest.MC Sher motivates Murad to start doing rapping by his heart. By doing practicing for a period of time and every time. Murad becomes an expert in rapping. Murad uploads his first video on Youtube where there was a positive response from it.
Berklee College student Sky (Kalki Koechlin) approaches to Murad and MC Sher through the video posted by them. Sky wanted to collaborate for a song with the boys. Another video had shot. The song was “Mere Gully Mein”.The song was shot in the Dharavi Slum. The video had a great response on youtube.

Murad shares an intimate moment with Sky. When Safeena finds that, she violently smashes the bottle on the Sky’s head which results in the arrest of Safeena and Safeena was being produced in the police station. But Sky doesn’t press charges on the Safeena and Safeena bails out from the police station. Murad breaks up from Safeena.
As Aftab (Murad’s Father) increases his violence against his mother, Murad takes a big decision of leaving the house with his mother and start working full time with his uncle.
Later, when Sky expresses the romantic feelings for Murad, he rejects her because Murad reconciles with Safeena. Murad and MC Sher enter into the contest to open for NAS at Mumbai Concert. Murad reaches into finals. And he also wins the contest. By this, he gets the name and fame. In the end, it is shown that Murad’s parents, Safeena and sky and her friends are glad and proud to see Murad is doing rapping in front of large people on the stage.
